Day 1

Afternoon arrival: Mountain Mayhem Mountain Coaster

Welcome to Massanutten! Once you’ve checked in and settled into your accommodations, start the weekend with a ride on the Mountain Mayhem Mountain Coaster, an alpine-style coaster that lets you control your speed as you twist and turn your way down the mountain. Watch the fall color rush past as you descend and kick off the weekend with a little adrenaline.

Dinner: Campfire Grill

Afterward, settle in at Campfire Grill for wood-fired pizza, steaks, burgers, and other hearty favorites. Pair dinner with a signature cocktail or local craft beer, or grab a seat outside by the fire on the deck for a crisp fall evening.

Day 2

Morning headline activity: Mountain biking

Start the morning at the Massanutten Bike Park and explore the mountain on two wheels. Newer riders can build confidence on more approachable terrain or join a group lesson, while experienced riders can take on lift-served downhill trails surrounded by the changing fall canopy.

Afternoon: Horseback Riding

Grab lunch on-site, then head to Woodstone Meadows Stable for a one-hour guided trail ride around the base of Massanutten Mountain. Enjoy the fall scenery from horseback as your guide leads you along the trail. The horses are gentle and trail-wise, so the ride is approachable even for beginners. Reservations are required, so be sure to book ahead.

Evening: Downtown Harrisonburg

After a full day outside, make the evening about good food and drinks in downtown Harrisonburg. Stop for cider at Sage Bird Ciderworks or a craft beer at Pale Fire Brewing Co., then grab dinner at a local restaurant before returning to the mountain.

Day 3

Morning before checkout: Scenic Chairlift

Finish the weekend with one last ride above the mountain on the scenic chairlift. Settle into your seat as the lift carries you over a patchwork of red, orange, and gold, with wide views stretching across Massanutten and the Shenandoah Valley. Enjoy a final quiet look at fall from above before checking out and starting the drive home.
