Your 3-Day Fall Adventure

Day 1

Afternoon arrival: Family Adventure Park + Mountain Mayhem Mountain Coaster

Welcome to Massanutten! Once you’ve checked in and settled into your accommodations, jump right into the weekend at the Family Adventure Park. Take on the kids’ ropes course, climbing wall, gem mining, and other challenges together, then add a ride on the nearby Mountain Mayhem Mountain Coaster, an alpine-style coaster that lets you control your speed as you twist and turn your way down the mountain surrounded by fall scenery.

Dinner: Campfire Grill

After an active first afternoon, settle in at Campfire Grill for wood-fired pizza, burgers, steaks, and other hearty favorites. Save room for a skillet of s’mores to share, or grab a seat outside by the fire on the deck for a crisp fall evening together.

Day 2

Morning headline activity: Mountain biking

Start the morning at the Massanutten Bike Park and explore the mountain on two wheels. Younger or newer riders can build confidence on beginner-friendly terrain, and group lessons are available for anyone who wants a little guidance before taking on the trails. More experienced riders can explore lift-served downhill terrain surrounded by the changing leaves.

Afternoon: Scenic Chairlift Ride

Grab lunch on-site, then take in the fall views with a scenic chairlift ride. Ride the Creekside and Peak Express lifts toward the top of the mountain, with colorful views stretching across the Shenandoah Valley and toward Shenandoah National Park. Once at the top, enjoy the scenery or take a short hike to the scenic overlook for panoramic views of the Valley and surrounding mountains.

Evening: Base Camp + entertainment

Finish the day at Base Camp with burgers, sandwiches, and other casual mountain fare in the laid-back lodge setting, then stick around if live music is on the schedule. Depending on the night, you might also find a comedy show, karaoke, or another family-friendly event happening elsewhere around the resort.

Day 3

Morning before checkout: Horseback riding + pony rides + petting zoo

Spend your final morning at the stables for one more outdoor adventure. Take a guided horseback ride through the fall mountain scenery, let younger kids enjoy a pony ride, and make time for the petting zoo before checking out.

If your route home takes you through Elkton or Harrisonburg, stop for lunch and stretch the getaway a little longer before the drive home.
