Day 1

Afternoon arrival: Family Adventure Park + Mountain Mayhem Mountain Coaster

Welcome to Massanutten! Once you’ve checked in and settled into your accommodations, jump right into the weekend at the Family Adventure Park. Little adventurers can take on the kids’ ropes course, climb the rock wall, or sift for treasures while gem mining, while the whole family can add even more excitement with a ride on the Mountain Mayhem Mountain Coaster.

Dinner: Campfire Grill

After an active first afternoon, head to Campfire Grill for wood-fired pizza, burgers, steaks, and other hearty favorites in a warm, rustic setting. Save room for a skillet of s’mores to share before calling it a night.

Day 2

Morning headline activity: Waterpark + FlowRider

Start the morning at Massanutten Waterpark, but turn up the adventure with a FlowRider lesson for anyone ready to test their balance on the wave. Spend the rest of the morning exploring the slides, pools, and other attractions, then stay inside the Waterpark for lunch with a sit-down meal at Splash’s or something quick from the Snack Shack. Before heading into the afternoon, stop by Sweetz for a treat.

Afternoon: Horseback trail ride + pony rides

Trade the water for the trail with an afternoon at the stables. Head out together on a guided horseback ride through the mountain scenery, let younger kids get in on the experience with a pony ride, and make time to stop by the petting zoo to meet some of the resort’s friendliest four-legged residents.

Evening: Base Camp + live entertainment

Settle in at Base Camp for casual mountain fare and a laid-back dinner after a full day of adventure. Afterward, check the resort event calendar for live music, comedy, or another family-friendly event happening during your stay.

Day 3

Morning before checkout: Mountain biking

Finish the weekend with one more adventure on two wheels. Massanutten’s mountain biking options include terrain that works well for younger and beginner riders, and group lessons are available for anyone who wants a little extra guidance before hitting the trails. Spend the morning riding together, then check out and, if your route takes you through Harrisonburg, stop for lunch at a local favorite like Bella Luna Wood-Fired Pizza before the drive home.
